A Star For You

When I was a little girl
I remember watching a show on TV
Maybe it was Red Skeleton show
I'm not quite sure
I do remember how beautiful it was
So touching

Setting was in a big top circus
Must have been the next morning
After a show

When the song
"Send In The Clowns"
Started playing

This is what I remember
It might not have of been this way exactly

He walked out
Carrying a big broom
He started sweeping the floors
She came out to practice

You could see in his eyes
Watching his dream
Swinging on the high wire
Melting his heart

How he admired her
How he wanted to reach and touch her
He did reach
She never saw
He just left a single rose
At the bottom of her rope
Her beauty memorized him

Clowns came in running around
Playing they didn't see
The single rose
Their huge red shoes trampled it

He felt his heart rip
When he saw what happen
He just stopped and watched his angel
Gracefully dance in the air

When the song was almost done
You saw him sweeping the rose away
As a tear slid down his face
The screen faded to black

Not sure exactly how it ended
But in my mind
When the screen faded back in
She was standing beside him
Holding a single rose
Smiles painted both their faces
The screen faded to black

Even as a child I felt the beauty
Such beauty is out there
Reach for it
There's a star for everyone
