Hey, Welcome to my site of the London Balloon Festival. The London Balloon Festival is held each August Civic Holiday Weekend in London Ontario. London Ontario is very proud to host one of Canada's most unique Balloon Festivals. Thanks to Wayne Metler, and his late wife Karen Rosenthal, in 1984 they both started this event. London's balloon festival is in it's 20 year in Downtown London, in Harris Park. Harris Park is a beautiful place for the balloon festival. One reason because it is at the forks of the Thames River, and in the center of the city, to make it more easy for folks to attend. The best thing about the balloon festival, is that it is FREE admission to all. But, after a debate on should Wayne Metler charge a small gate fee in future years. Wayne had this idea because he is loosing most of his sponsors, and if they wont let him charge, the festival will be no more. Harris Park is a beautiful park, lots of shade...and even for a great over view of the festival, climb to the top of the hill in the park, there you will get some of the balloons, and most of the crowd...(great for pictures aswell).
