I only got into Placebo after a friend forced me to listen to one of their songs. I don’t know whether I love her for it or hate for it. Since being introduced to it I can’t sit down at the PC and not have them blaring out of the speakers. I love Brian Molko, I love the other band members but Brian just stuns me. I recommend Placebo to everyone they are amazing, and their lyrics are not only bold and heart breaking they’re easy to relate to.

 

Placebo were formed when Stefan Olsdal and Brian Molko accidentally met on south Kensington tube station. They had gone to school together in Luxemburg but barely exchanged two words during their time there.  Brian at the time was studying drama at Goldsmiths and playing at gigs with a drummer called Steve Hewitt in his spare time. Stefan was studying guitar at the musician’s institute. They got talking and Brian told Stefan about a gig he was playing at. Stefan came to watch and was impressed. They formed a band called Ashtray Heart which later progressed to Placebo.
