September 2006 NEW UKC CHAMPION!

UKC TOP TEN

NUMBER ONE Anatolian for 2006!

Brinks has been going to a basic obedience class since last fall to get socialized and learn to pay attention to her human when other dogs and people are around. From all indications, by choice, she was just "NOT" getting it! Easily distracted and completely blonde at moments, Brinks was entered in her first ever show. The UKC Carolina Classic at Hickory on April 1st and 2nd. From the moment she walked into the ring that first time, she was all business. She HAD been paying attention! Saturday, she was awarded Best Female in both shows. Sunday, not only did she again take Best Female, she went over Bear and took Best of Breed! We are very proud of our little girl.

Brinks has started a class in basic obedience. At 10 months, she thinks all the dogs and people are there just for her to meet! After 4 weeks, she is starting to respond quite well even when distracted. She learns quickly, but gets bored easily! It's become obvious, Brinks has a selective memory!

Brinks has finally reached a point where she will stand still and stay for more than a second! Even better, she's starting to respond to the "come" command consistently and with a little more enthusiasm than normally seen with our independent breed.
