Teaching Tolerance, Advancing Society
This is a non-profit organization created in 1993 that focuses on tolerance education. Their mission statement is as follows; "To promote harmony among all people. People of different cultures, races, religions, age groups, sexual gender and orientation, physical and mental abilities." This group while not fully going against censorship seems to lean more towards preventing the hate speech from happening in the first place.
International Tolerance Network
The International Tolerance Network is an organization that strives for global human rights and tolerance. They go throughout the world, teaching tolerance and working with individuals to spread the ideals of tolerance. Groups like this one are essential in the fight for global tolerance. This group publishes books on the topic of tolerance such as Tolerance Matters and Hate Hurts: How Children Learn to Unlearn Prejudice. These publications attempt to spread the ideals of tolerance. They are primarily meant for the teachers of tolerance, but could be used by anyone who wants to further their understanding of the ideals of tolerance.
A site run by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is a nationally known organization started in 1971. Originally a civil rights group, they now lead the legal fight against hate groups. This website is a branch of their organization which strives to prevent hate. They have statistics about hate groups in specific areas and attempt to bring together people with social justice groups in their area. They also work to promote tolerance and understanding between groups of people.

This site has remarks by a member of the US delegation to the 57th session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. These remarks support the concept of tolerance education so that children born into a world of bias and prejudice. They focus on how humanity can overcome these obstacles and be able to better associate and identify with other members of the world community as a whole.
This is the website of a group based in the Middle East. They are for the peaceful end of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The group seeks to have both sides recognize each other as equals. They want each side to confirm that they will not engage in violence. They seek a independent Palestinian state and compensate individuals for any loss incurred because of this resolution.
This website describes Federal
and State attempts at censoring the internet. The site is run by the Electronic
Privacy Information Center. This is a public internet research center located in
Washington, D.C. It was created to focus public attention on emerging issues
with civil liberties and other First Amendment issues involving the internet.
The group is more of a watchdog organization looking out for violations of civil
liberties then a group which focuses on hate speech.
This is a Cornell University Law School website posting of the Supreme Court case which involved the Communications Decency Act of 1996. The act criminalized the knowing transmission of indecent images to persons under the age of 18. The Court ruled however that this law broke the protection offered under the First Amendment. This case shows why censorship has legal issues which may hamper it.
