In today's society, Internet hate speech can be a hot button topic. It is a detriment to society and hurts many of the people it is directed at. In order combat this growing problem, there have been several suggestions. The best of these suggestions is one that will eliminate the cause of hate speech. This is the concept of tolerance education. Webster's Dictionary defines tolerance as the capacity for or practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others. If people use tolerance, then they will notate other people, thus eliminating the cause of the hate speech problem. This is a better practice than the one of limiting online hate speech. If a system of Internet censorship is put into play, as some are suggesting, the problem will still exist. With censorship, the problem will just be more underground and harder to track.
