Evan Becker Talk Show The Da Vinci Code 3/25/04

Host: Welcome back! As you all know we have a very special guest with us today. Recently involved in the enormous grail quest talked about in the news Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome French Police Cryptographer Sophie Neveu

Sophie: Thank you very much, it’s a pleasure to be here

Host: So Sophie we all know about your grandfather and are extremely sorry for your loss, but I know that you have an amazing story to tell and we would love it if you would share some of it with us.

Sophie: Oh yes, I would love to share some but where shall I start…?

Host: Well how about with your childhood?

Sophie: Well my parents were believed to be murdered in a staged car accident when I was very young. I never got to know my parents. Their death led me to live with my grandfather. We became very close and he kept a close watch on me. This wonderful relationship went on all the way through college.

Host: What happened in college? Did you two just grow apart?

Sophie: Well, I guess you could say that. It was rather traumatizing. I came home one day while I was on spring break and I walked in on Grand-père taking part in an anciet ritual or the Priory of Sion called Hieros Gamos. At the time I had no idea he was a member of the group or what the ritual was called. I just ended up having a very disturbing image, which I will not go into any detail about, imbedded in my mind.

Host: I am sorry that we had to bring that topic back up with you.

Sophie: No, no, it’s okay I have learned to accept it now that I know the reasoning behind it.

Host: Anyways, on to the present. What led you to this quest for the Holy Grail with Robert Langdon.

Sophie: After my grandfather died I was called in to take a look at the crime scene since there was an apparent code written on the floor next to my grandfather. It turned out that the code was intended for me. He had used a nick name of mine Princess Sophie or P.S. in the writing. I was later able to figure out with the help of Robert that the writing on the floor was actually an anagram that led us to further clues.

Host: Whats an example of one of these codes?

Sophie: umm heres one of the first ones that he gave us. On the floor is said “Oh lame saint” and when the letters are rearranged it says “The Mona Lisa.” The Mona Lisa was where we found our second clue.

Host: So what did all these clues lead you to?

Sophie: We followed the path to find a cryptex, which is an old lock box invented by Leonardo Da Vinci. My grandfather built them as a hobby. The cyptex contained a map to the holy grail.

Host: Now the holy grail you speak of is not the customary grail, the cup that Jesus drank from at the last supper, that everyone has seen in movies or heard of is it?

Sophie: That is correct. It turns out, and there is tons of evidence to back this up. Jesus Christ had a wife and it was completely cut out of the Bible due to a decision by the church. The church wanted to make Jesus appear more pure so they cut the section out and tried to destroy all documentation on the incident. Jesus’s wife Mary Magdalene and the documents proving their marriage are the true holy grail. The reason that the idea has not gone mainstream is the church. They have done everything in their power to suppress and are on the grail quest to destroy the remaining documentation of Mary Magdalene.

Host: So did you ever end up finding the grail?

Sophie: Well we know where it is but we have yet to uncover it. Reason being is the Priory of Sion. They protected the secret for two thousand years and we are deciding on weather it is the time to uncover the truth or to keep it a secret.

Host: Well I am sure your decision will be the right one. I know that your grandfather trusted you with the secret and it is your responsibility to do what you will with it. On to other things, I hear that you and Robert Langdon are thinking of marriage?

Sophe: Well yes the topic has come up. The question however has yet to be popped, so to say. But we shall see how that turns out.

Host: Well I wish you the best of luck no matter which way your lives end up going.
