... an Algebraic Experience
Time to expand your skills
in Algebra or Geometry!
My mission is to influence students to learn for
life and develop the study skills that will help them in any discipline.

East High School
Some Habits and Attitudes of a Successful Math Student
1. Good attendance, on time
2. Prepared with all needed equipment
3. Ability to listen and follow directions
4. Willing to ask questions
5. Gets started in class on math homework when possible (great if questions arise) Shows work clearly, has legible handwriting
6. Willing to come in after school for occasional tutoring if needed. Extra credit for coming in. If you see another teacher, have that teacher let me know you visited
7. Reads examples in book, does the difficult examples from the book on paper for practice, takes good notes in class
8. Has a sense of respect for math combined with curiosity and persistence
9. Takes responsibility -- looks in the mirror when looking for reasons for grade results
10. Has ability to learn from mistakes and apply the knowledge to the next test or exercise
11. Studies with other students to master concepts. Knows the value of cooperative learning
12. Finishes regular work on time,
follows through on extra credit, if absent, finds out right away what was
assigned and quickly catches up
Thoughts on learning:
" Learning happens all through life unless we block it. Organizations therefore need, consciously, to become learning organizations, places where change is an opportunity, where people grow while they work."
