Thank you for visiting Marshall's webpage! Marsh-man's now six years old and has just started first grade. He's a big brother now! His baby brother, Luke was born in April 2006 and his baby sister, Kenna joined us May 2007. Now that he's so big, it seems disingenuous of me to try to write in his voice, so all future posts will be from my perspective (his momma!).
Marshall's 12th laser treatment is coming up. He's still seeing Dr. R. Dean Glassman at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. We've had great results so far. I'd guess that his birthmark is about 50% lighter than it was when we started.
The only problem we've had with treatments so far is one little scar. After a particularly aggressive treatment Marshall got a blister on his cheek. Being the boy that he is, he picked at it as it was healing. Now he has a small indented scar there. The recommended treatment for these scars is Pulsed-Dye Laser treatments, so we're just hitting that spot again during each treatment and hoping that it will lessen.
