Our house is what they call a miners house. It is set 1 meter off the ground for ventilation, which is vital to keep the temperature in the house down.

It is a 3 bedroom house with an inside bathroom/toilet, kitchen, lounge and laundry.

Because there isn't a cinema or a Video shop for 300km, we have setup a DVD cinema in our home, each week we buy another DVD off the Internet from ezydvd.com.au and build up the collection.

When we first saw the house we couldn't believe how dry it was. The previous tenants hadn't watered the grass in over 4 years, so we have a bit of work to do, but we are treating this whole experience as an adventure, The MacKenzies Out West Adevntures.

The bonus from living so far out is that we are close to Adelaide, all of the central Queensland and New South Wales tourist destinations are now 8 hours closer than from the Gold Coast, and because we have a 4WD we can do a lot of country that others can't.
