After visiting a competitor's shop first, Mark came to us and told us about his idea about removing the boring rear stock console in his truck and building a custom enclosure in its place!  There were two conditions... no cutting and he needed it to ROCK! ! !ROCK! ! !

Here's how things started and how things finished!

1. Here are a few shots of the 3/4" MDF bottom half of the sub enclosure with the ring cutout and temporarily angled in position using MDF and hot glue.

2. This is how things look after wrapping the entire project in fleece, fiberglassing it, and finally adding 4 layers of chop matte.  3. Now that we have things this strong, it's time to mix some  Duraglass; which is fiberglass reinforced filler. 4. Here's a shot of it spread over the box and curing in the sun for awhile! 5. Now it is necessary to knock this layer of filler down and prepare it for a layer of plastic!

6. But before we do that, we have to brace and seal the inside of this monster.   Notice the front portion of the box is pretty flat; not good when dealing with fiberglass.   7.  So I had to cut and adhere two pieces of MDF to add to this area's rigidity!  8. A few shots of the project body filled and sanded up to 150 grit paper.
