MacThing

Freeware -- Requires OS X

Computers use something called ASCII to translate raw binary data into readable text. Video games rarely use ASCII text. This program lets you extract readable text from Super Nintendo games by using custom character translation tables. You can then edit the text in any text editor (BBEdit Lite, TextEdit, etc.) and then reinsert your custom dialog back into the game. How cool is that? ^_^

Includes three tables for "Final Fantasy III"
