Welcome to Steven's web site!
Last updated 8/29/03

It is hard to believe in just a few weeks Steven will be a year old. It doesn't seem to long ago that I was worried he was to little for his car seat and then today I paid $80 to replace the one he has outgrown.

Anyway, Steven's website will either be moving or be taken down. The new website would be through Apple's own web servers and allow us to post as many pictures of him as we like. It is part of a service that provides email, virus protection, web site hosting and more for $99 a year. That is out of the budget at the moment but the free trial of this website is up in a little less than a month and the space here is limited. If you like the pictures and visit here often please let us know so I can decide if it is worth doing. Enjoy the pics for the next month, the link is below the ones you have already seen. If you have a Macintosh computer or Yahoo Messenger for Windows, let us know if seeing him on a webcam would interest you.

The Pictures

The little Red's Fan

Steven is fascinated with hats. He is always taking Daddy's and he loves to wear his Red's hat. He likes the Cincinnati Reds and Bearcats, the Ohio State Buckeyes but NOT ANY Florida teams.

Steven wants to do everything his daddy does.

Daddy was playing softball there for awhile and of course Steven wanted to play to.

And he LOVES the kitties!

We have two cats, Jacob and Cassia. Cassie is very wary of Steven but Jacob is sooooo starved for attention that he will put up with ALOT. Jake has learned that when we are holding Steven, we stay pretty still. That is when Jake decides to come lay with us. I guess Jake figures any attention is worth a few lost whiskers.

Steven's Latest Adventures

Since I have been laid off from work, it has turned into "what do we teach Steven today". He mimics everything daddy does so yesterday I taught him to give high-fives and load the dishwasher. He can stand for a few seconds now without holding onto anything which means he now has both hands free to pull things down. He has also learned how to drink from a glass or cup so anything left out is fair game in his eyes. Our carpet has turned into one big stain in the last month and the poor little SpotLifter's batteries always go dead just about halfway through cleaning a spot up. That is another thing Steven likes to play with. He is fascinated by the SpotLifter and the vacuum.

Earlier this week I put childproof covers on some of the electrical outlets. Of course he followed me around the house watching. When I was doing the one in his room he grabbed my screw driver and jammed it right in the outlet. Thankfully I had the electric turned off. Now I can't leave a screwdriver within his or he will pick it up and start poking it in things.

I don't remember what I was like at that age but I think that figuring out screwdrivers take things apart and bottles go in the dishwasher is pretty smart for an 11 month old baby.

The List

Everyone has been soooo kind and wonderful in regards to Steven. We are really thankful for all the help. We often are asked if there is anything he needs. And often people buy things we already have enough of and it goes unused. Steven will be a year old next month (9/15/03) everyone has been asking about what he needs now. We decided that we would make a list and post it here for anyone that wants to get him anything or help out.

We do most of our diaper buying at Costco, formula/food comes from Kroger's and the clothes from Target. Some have mentioned toys but he honestly has plenty of those and enjoys the Sunday paper anyway. Since we are starting a family album so if nothing else we would appreciate pictures and cards from all of you.

1) Target, Kroger or Costco gift cards.
2) A baby computer (he has a thing for keyboards).
3) Blues Clues DVD's (we have "Shape and Colors" and "Rhythm and Music")

4) Advent 9oz bottles and size 4 (6month+) nipples.
5) Walker Wagon by Radio Flyer. Its a red wagon with a handlebar for toddlers to hold on to.

6) Grandparent Story Book Sort of a family album kit
7) Leap Frog Discovery Ball Steven is at the age where he likes things that make noise
9) Learn Through Music: Blues Clues A learning center with Blue's Clues

That is about it for now.

Besides being the computers that professionals prefer for making movies, web sites and any other technical application, Macs are the computer Steven prefers. If any of our family have a Macintosh computer let us know and we can send you iPhoto libraries of Steven's pics and iMovies of Steven.
