Bring The Gamble House to Your House!

The Gamble House Speakers Bureau offers 30-minute slide presentations on this famous Pasadena landmark, designed by architects Charles and Henry Greene in 1908. We are happy to come to a private home, business, or other meeting location suitable for a slide or PowerPoint presentation, which will be given by one of our experienced volunteers.

Exotic hardwoods, custom-designed furniture and rugs, leaded art glass doors and light fixtures, and other unique features make The Gamble House an internationally recognized masterpiece of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Designed for Procter & Gamble executive David B. Gamble and his family, the house was primarily used as a winter home by two generations of Gambles before it was made a gift to the City of Pasadena and the University of Southern California in 1966. Its history and visual splendor are the focus of this presentation.

Homeowners, service clubs, community groups or businesses are encouraged to host their own Gamble House “get-together,” luncheon, wine-and-cheese evening or similar event, concluding with the presentation. We can accommodate groups of 10 or more persons within approximately 25 miles of Pasadena, California.

To support continuing preservation and education at The Gamble House, we ask that requesting groups consider a tax-deductible donation to the Docent Council of The Gamble House, an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. Typically, groups of 10-12 people make a $25 donation, although some contribute more. A “rule of thumb” is roughly $2 per person in attendance.

Presentations can usually be scheduled for morning, afternoon, or evening events with at least four weeks advance notice for best availability.
