WHAT IS FIRST, and How Does C.H.A.O.S. fit in?
FIRST is a NH based non-profit organization that organizes a number of science and technology events for students. These include The Junior Robotics Competition, The FIRST Robotics Competition, and numerous science and technology camps. The Robotics Competition matches high school students with mentors from colleges and corporations. During a 6 week period students and mentors work on designing, building and testing a remote-controlled-130-pound robot. Competitions take place in March and April followed by a Championship Competition at Disney World.

C.H.A.O.S. (Central High And Our Supporters) has been an active FIRST team since 1992. We have had a number of our members major in science and technology fields in college. For us, the FIRST Program allows students to take an active part in an academic-extracurricular activity. With a program as diverse as this, any interested student can find a FIRST related activity that will enrich them. Being part of a team helps build skills and friendships that can last forever.

    Accepting the FIRST Lego League Challenge

Huston Texas Home of The 2003 FIRST Nationals
          C.H.A.O.S. is proud to once again participate in FIRST Lego League. This year we are running two fifth grade teams at McDonough Elementary School, supporting an all girls team with Girls,Incorporated [Manchester] and offering support to the all girls team with Girls, Incorporated [Concord].
More information on the impact of FIRST Lego League to come. 		          It might be true that fields in science and technology are currently dominated by males, but the Greater Manchester Region of Girls, Incorporated of New Hampshire and Team 131, C.H.A.O.S. are ready to turn that fact into old news!

        The 2003 FIRST Nationals will be held @ Reliant Park in Huston Texas

April 10th - 12th 2003
