This is a complete walkthrough, where I will attempt to walk you through the game as best as I can, with complete boss strategies, level recommendations, materia equips, and more. I'm not going to tell you how to beat the final boss in one hit, because that would be pretty easy. Just get Knights of the Round Table, level up to 99, and have at it. This guide is for those that want to beat the game without doing any side quests. It's not the best "challenge" game ever, but I don't like to do side quests, much less describe them. Besides, there's already several quality guides out there that can tell you how to train a chocobo better than I ever could. So, enjoy the walkthrough, don't get yourself too overpowered (and if you want to, I know some good level up spots, because I'm a level up freak, check 8.2 for more information on this), and enjoy yourself. ******************* ******************* ******************* ***************** -----------/ 4.1 / WALKTHROUGH --> DISC ONEE ----------/ 4.1 / ******************* ******************* ******************* ***************** The walkthrough follows the same basic format you would expect it to. There's nothing too revolutionary here. I am going to try to be a little more descriptive here than I normally am, but BTB already tore the storyline apart, so I'm going to focus more on the actual gameplay itself. =<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=> | MAKO REACTOR | =<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=> | ENEMIES | ITEMS | BOSSES | =<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=> | 1st Ray | Potions x3 | Guard Scorpion | | Mono Drive | Phoenix Down | | | Guard Hound | Restore Materia | | | MP | | | =<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=>=<=> As my review states, the introduction of Final Fantasy 7 is pretty majestic. It's not as good as Final Fantasy 8's introduction video, but the music combined with the graphics of seeing a train ride into Midgar, followed by the classic Final Fantasy VII logo, that's some pretty deep stuff right there. The train will eventually come to a halt.. and then a kick ass song will play. The first of many, mind you. Final Fantasy VII may just have the best soundtrack of all time, and this song is no exception. It's highly frantic and upbeat, perfect for the situation at hand. Some soldiers will run out of the train, followed by one left behind. First, run down to pick up a POTION from a downed soldier. The next one up has one, as well. Run to the end of the platform, and you will suddenly be ambushed by 2 enemy soldiers. This is your first battle, and your character is still unnamed. Fortunately, the battle is REALLY not that difficult at all. I don't think it is physically possible to lose this battle unless you just stand there and get hit. I heard a rumor that if you lose the battle and get game over, you come back with increased statistics and a better weapon, but this is not true. You just get game over. So, I advise just hitting attack a few times. We can get accustomed to the battle system later. Once the battle is over, you will just have to follow your companions along. You'll even get to name your character for the first time. I am going to keep his name as "Cloud" to avoid any confusion in this guide. Feel free to change it to whatever you want. You'll also get to name "Barret", but the same deal applies for him, as well. Follow the people along, and the two guys will run ahead of you and push a switch, which opens the door that was blocking your path. Nice. Make sure to go to the right to pick up a PHOENIX DOWN before moving on to the elevator. Once out of the elevator, you will be in the actual Mako Reactor for the first time. Go down the stairs and through the door to get to the next screen. In this screen, go down the ladder, and get the POTION from the long pole where Jesse is standing on. The enemies here are not too bad, simple physical attacks will take care of most of them. Proceed down the ladder to the next screen. Here, you will finally encounter your first save point. Save the game and heal up, because you will need it. Walk along to the next screen, pick up the RESTORE MATERIA, then proceed to the Mako Reactor itself. You will watch a scene where Cloud sets the bombs, and then an alarm goes off, triggering your first of many boss encounters. =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* | BOSS FIGHT! | GUARD SCORPION | BOSS FIGHT! | =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* | LV: 12 | For a first boss, the Guard Scorpion is kind of tricky. | | HP: 800 | Since he has an unique attack pattern, winning this | | MP: 0 | battle is more about timing your attacks right then | | EXP: 100 | an actual attack power. Fortunately, the game actually | | GIL: 100 | tells you what to do during the battle itself, so it's | | AP: 10 | really not too bad. | | | | | | You can either have Cloud do physical attacks or Bolt (I | | | prefer Bolt, but it's really up to you), while Barret | | | just smacks it a few time with physical attacks. When | | | your HP falls below 100, make sure to use a Potion to | | | heal. His physical attacks are pretty nasty. | | | | | | Soon, he will put his tail up in the air, and Barret will | | | tell Cloud to watch it. Knowing how this is just like the | | | first boss in FF6 (Whelk, with that annoying "go inside | | | the shell move"), I advise not attacking it during this | | | time frame, as it will just counter with Tail Laser, | | | which does 75 HP to each character. So, just wait for his | | | tail to go back down, and then finish the boss off. | =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* | Dropped Items: Nothing | | Stolen Items: Nothing | =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* You may have just won your first of many Final Fantasy VII boss fights, and congratulations to you, but don't think you're going to get out of here without a fight! The bomb has 10 minutes left on it before it explodes, so you have to get your ass out of here, and in a hurry! Fortunately, it's not too hard to get out of here. You just have to go the exact way you entered in order to get out. Make sure to stop along the way and pick up Jesse, whose foot is stuck. If you don't, you can't proceed to the exit. So, help her out, and in return, Jesse and Biggs will remove the security locks, allowing you to escape. Note that if you have any extra time remaining, this is an excellent place to build up some quick EXP, as you heal automatically when you leave this area. Just make sure not to die by running out of time. I was able to gain a full level before I exited the area. When you are done leveling up, simply run south and you will soon be out of this area. Next stop: Sector 5 Slums. You just got a small taste of what is to come with the greatest time of all time. Sure, the parts at the beginning are a tad boring, but bear with me, the game becomes much better soon enough, I promise. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | 5.0 |. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .FAQ'S. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . | 5.0 | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Here is a listing of all the questions I could possibly think of that I could be asked about Final Fantasy VII. Can I revive Aeris? | ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ Nope, it has been disproven many times that you can not revive Aeris at all in Final Fantasy VII. I know there have been tons of rumors to come out about it, but I assure you that there is no way in hell that Aeris can be revived. All of the rumors can make sense on paper, but when you actually break it down, you will notice flaws and inaccuracies in every rumor. Besides, the game has been out since 1997, and there is no evidence at all that she can be revived, so I seriously doubt that she can be, otherwise we would have found out by now. And no, I don't care about this "we can find out things about old games all the time, like the secret squares in Final Fantasy 4/Final Fantasy 2 US" argument, either. This is not some secret square thing that people just happen to stumble onto. This is something that a LOT of people have been trying for YEARS, and there is no evidence at all to support she can be resurrected. She was meant to die, let's leave it at that and try to revive Leo in FF6 or something. He was a bad ass! ;-) ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ | 6. How can I change the color of my screen? | ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ Go to the config section of the menu, and then change it via that. I like to have mine as a sky-blue, but you can change it to a lot of different colors. It's also cool, because you can change different sections of each screen. The screen is divided into four parts, so you can make some odd and weird color combinations. I love to experiment with them just for fun. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | 7.0 |. . . . . . . . . . . . . . People usually consider the enemy list to be the toughest part of a RPG guide, but I never have much of a problem. Sure, it gets to be a tad tedious and dare I say boring sometimes, but it's never too much of a problem. Anyways, each enemy will come with the following statistics for the in depth section: Name: The name of the enemy Level: The experience level of the enemy HP/MP/EXP/AP/GIL: You know the deal here. WIN/STEAL/MORPH: What you can win/steal from the enemy, and what you can morph them into. Special Attacks: Any special attacks it does, in addition to the normal physical attacks. Location: The location of the enemy. The basic enemy list will just provide the name, HP, MP, EXP, AP, and GIL. ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ | NAME OF ENEMY | HP | MP | EXP | GIL | AP | ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ | 1st Ray | 18 | 0 | 12 | 5 | 1 | | 2-Faced | 330 | 80 | 100 | 156 | 10 | | 8 Eye | 500 | 220 | 1,000 | 720 | 100 | | Acrophies | 2,400 | 220 | 800 | 1,200 | 900 | | Adamantai | 1,600 | 240 | 720 | 2,000 | 100 | ^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-^=*-=^ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | 1st Ray | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEVEL: 4 HP: 18 MP: 0 EXP: 12 GIL: 5 AP: 1 WIN: Nothing STEAL: Nothing MORPH: Nothing SPECIAL: Laser LOCATION: 1st Reactor ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | 2-Faced | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEVEL: 18 HP: 330 MP: 80 EXP: 100 GIL: 156 AP: 10 WIN: Hi Potion STEAL: Phoenix Down MORPH: Nothing SPECIAL: Self-Destruct, Cure3 LOCATION: Corel Prison ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | 8 Eye | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEVEL: 30 HP: 500 MP: 220 EXP: 1,000 GIL: 720 AP: 100 WIN: Nothing STEAL: Nothing MORPH: Nothing SPECIAL: Life Drain LOCATION: Temple of the Ancients ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Acrophies | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEVEL: 35 HP: 2,400 MP: 220 EXP: 800 GIL: 1,200 AP: 90 WIN: Nothing STEAL: Water Ring MORPH: Nothing SPECIAL: Claw, Huge Tidal Wave LOCATION: Corral Valley ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Adamantai | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEVEL: 30 HP: 1,600 MP: 240 EXP: 720 GIL: 2,000 AP: 100 WIN: Nothing STEAL: Adaman Bangle MORPH: Nothing SPECIAL: Barrier, Death Force, Light Shell, MBarrier LOCATION: Western Continent - Beach
