Malta claimed their independance from Britain in 1964, leaving a mixture of culture based on an administering English system and language. One can still see very strong links wit Britain including many buildings and especially the language. Nearly all Maltese people speak English fluently, and have always been famous for their hospitality. Many Maltese people in the St Julians and Sliema area are English through marriage, and many of them have chosen to tach English as a profession.

With an average temparature of around 18 degrees the Maltese islands are an ideal "year round" destinations for Europeans. Having all the amenities in close proximaty with with other, and good services provided by banks amd services, Malta is fast becomming a top destination for learning English throughout the world.
