CALVARIO HILL- In ancient times, this place was the lair of the most feared “aswang”. When the Spanish conquerors came, they built a building where spanish officials met and this place was called “Casino Español”. Here also they spent their leisure time. During World War II the Japanese built here the watchtower to spot the guerillias. Many Filipino martyrs were tortured here which makes this place doubly significant.
