Macworld Boston 2004

The best of Macworld Boston 2004

Ron Moreau, Macworld Sales Manger and friends

'And you won! ' Ron Moreau, IDG World Expo's Sales Manger, smiled at me, "you won a User Conference Sessions pass from July 14 to July 15th 2004." The User Conference Sessions pass was worth $195 for the Early Bird Registration. The Macworld User Conference Sessions price increased to $245 for Advance Registration. It finished at $295 for Regular Registration.

Now I had to select three modules per day from: Music, Fun with Digital Video, MacBeginnings, Cool Tools and Creative Skills. Next, I picked six modules from the Wed. and Thurs. sessions.

Picking from my two best sessions was Derrick Story and David Pogue. 'Digital Photo Hacks' session with Derrick Story (his given name) was a favorite for me. The next session was 'Making iMovies' with David Pogue. My previous review was the iMovie 2.0 book for my user group.

Pro Reaction

User Conference Sessions allowed me to pick six sessions. The Session speakers were professional, interesting and kept the audience alert. Most of the Session attendees took notes on their Powerbooks. I find that the User Conference Sessions was worth the price.

Con Reaction

There were two User Conference Sessions instructors that did not show up from the sessions that I picked. Alternate speakers were quite good. Time between sessions during lunch time was limited. This forced the User Conference Sessions attendees to carry their own food into the sessions.

Final Notes

I heard several audience members mention that they enjoyed the session instructors. I feel that the availability of quick box lunches for pickups by User Conference Sessions attendees would have been appreciated.
