Melody (aka Dee) our TB/Percheron mare is an 22 year old 16.3 hand black/bay TB/Percheron mare. Dee is now retired from breeding but she has had quite a few foals for us. She is a wonderful mare to have around. She is super friendly and loving. Quiet enough for pony rides with our young nieces who have never ridden a horse but lots of get up and go if you know what you are doing. I’ve ridden several of her babies, Whisper, Westchester and Wabash Cannonball, and they have both been wonderful mounts. Very athletic and extremely willing.
Some of Dee’s babies are Whisper by West Coast (Hanoverian), Westchester by West Coast (Hanoverian), Wisteria by West Coast (Hanoverian), Samson by Schoenfeld (Trakehner) and Wabash Cannonball by Wild Card (Hanoverian)
Wisteria
One of Melody’s daughter’s by the Hanoverian stallion, West Coast. Wisteria is a 17 hand chestnut mare with 4 socks and a blaze. She is a big impressive girl with lovely movement. She has a wonderful long neck and a large expressive eye. She has a very pretty slightly dished face. We are not sure where that came from!
Wisteria is full sister to Whisper and Westchester. Although we use Wisteria only as a broodmare (I just don’t have time to ride them all!) I have ridden both of these siblings and they are wonderful under saddle. I have no doubt that Wisteria would be just like them.
Wisteria's babies are Walking on the Sun by Walldorf, Belize by Batido, Welkin by Werigo and Worlds Apart by Wild Card. She is back in foal to Wild Card for 2007.
Ellison
Ellie is a 15.1 hand TB/Hanoverian mare by the Hanoverian stallion Equubar. Ellie was born slightly premature and we believe that is why she is smaller than both of her parents are. Her sire stood 16.1 hands and her dam stood 15.3 hands. Ellie has 2 half brothers out of the same dam who stand 16.3 and 17 hands so we believe that the foals she produces will be much larger than she is and so far they all have been. Some of them have been much, much larger.
Ellie has a big balanced canter and lovely trot that she passes on to her foals. She also passes on her very quiet, loving disposition. All of her babies have been so easy to break and very quiet under saddle. Ellie is on a broodmare lease and is in foal to Regazzoni.
Wish From Zookie
Our 2001 mare, Wish From Zookie, is the last foal out of the Oldenburg and Hanoverian approved TB mare Zookie’s Girl and by the Hanoverian stallion, Walldorf. Zookie’s Girl was quite a mare. We found her at a mid winter TB auction and bought her away from the killers. We took her home and fattened her up since she was a bag of bones. She was a big chestnut mare who stood 17 hands. She was accepted into the ISR/Oldenburg NA main mare book and all of her foals that where presented to them went premium. Then at age 21 she was accepted into the Hanoverian book and was champion non-Hanoverian mare at that inspection. Unfortunately, we lost Zookie’s Girl a few hours after she foaled in 2001 but she did leave us with a filly to replace herself with. We will always have a Zookie in the barn.
Wish From Zookie is by the Hanoverian stallion, Walldorf. Walldorf had 100 day test score of 149, one of the highest scores on record. Zookie has produced 2 foals for us so far. They are Wildest Wish by Wild Card and Rocky Top by Rolling Stone. Both will be very tall fellows and have lovely movement. Zookie will be rebred to Rolling Stone for a 2008 baby.
