perspective. it's all a matter of perspective. each person sees things differently. each has their own perspective. it is a result of past experiences, by which it can then be linked to race, age, sex, height, eye color, everything about you. and everything about your environment. and, speaking of environment, i'm gonna get off on a little tangent here. people always ask, "how much of you is made up of genetics and how much is from environmental influence?". the answer is that they are one and the same. but that, of course, is using genetics as a broad term, then genetics of living things. the role of environment in the creation of personality ended before the creation of personality first began. in the beginning, environment, luck, played a crucial role in deciding which organisms lived. but then organisms evolved, to humans and other similar intelligent life, and the ratio of environment to genetics has been decreasing since. for, you see, part of what those early humans did was based on environment, and part of it genetics. as there became more humans, more of the environment consisted of genetics. therefore every generation had a bit more influence from genetics than from the actual environment, if we use the definition of environment as it was used way back when the first organisms were evolving. so the best answer to that is that it is almost all based on genetics, just a lot of different people's genes. but i suppose it really depends on when genetics and environment merge into one. if that does even occur. which all depends on perspective. hey, somehow i got back to the main topic. if you'd even call it that. so, back to perspective. most of the things you do, all of the choices you make are based on perspective. if you've been taught that black people should be looked down upon because they're different from you, then you're much more likely to yell out some racial slur at someone fitting that description that passes you that someone that has always been taught that all races are equal is. and i mean no offense to any race by that example, i hope you understand that. and now on to the dreaded point of all of this: perspective in relation to the attack on the world trade center.

yes, i know that it's been over a month (a month? its seemed like mere days) since it occurred and it has been overanalyzed and you’re sick of hearing about it and all that. but this is a thought i had quite a while ago and never published online for some reason. so you, lucky reader, get to be the first to hear it (and i mean that, you’re probably the only one whos been to this site so far. perhaps i should put a counter on just to see how few people this site attracts). we mourn for the loss of our six thousand some citizens. they rejoice at their amazing victory - for isn’t that what it was, an stunning tactical victory? they lost a dozen, we lost over six thousand. good move, was it not? imagine how you would feel if your contry went into a battle and lost only twelve or so while killing thousands of the enemy. probably the same way they feel. so although we mourn and they rejoice the same event, we are both right. neither of us is more or less wrong than the other. we both feel exactly what we should feel.

and, now that i’m thinking about this, what right do we have to bomb afgahnistan? just because a terrorist organization from their country attacked us, we have the right to kill thousands of their innocent civilians by bombing major cities? that isn’t right. we’re just looking for blind retribution. thousands of ours died, so we’ll feel better if we kill thousands of some other country’s. so, i urge you, fight against this attack on afghanistan, fight against any other attacks we have planned on innocent people. just think - what if this was being done to your country? perhaps it will be, and soon, at that. so stop this retaliatory attack on people that don’t need to die for something they haven’t done. the fact that the us, any country, at that, would even do that, makes me sick.
