Did you know that Egyptian people did things a lot different than people today? One of the things they did different is they mummified people when they died. Mummification is done by the ancient Egyptian god Anubis. It would take ten days for Anubis to finish the mummification. When he mummified a person he would work in a tent. Egyptian people belived that mummyfing a person would lead a safe passage to the afterlife. Anubis wrapped the organs individually and placed them in Canopic jars. Only the heart was left in place. Then he wraps them in strips of linen. They then carry the body and put it in the coffin. Mummification is then done.
