about this Welcome to my site. Part of it is portfolio, part of it is experimental and the rest branches out to miscellaneous stuff I'm inton. This is where I show some of my work, stuff that I'm sure to look back at months from now and say "Naah, that's crap! Now I gotta put something new up to replace it! Oh well barely anyone comes to this site anyways." I'm somewhat of a perfectionist so I have to stay kind of spastic and crazy to balance myself out and be sure I get some things done. Constant change is a big theme here. So are noise (visual), paradox and illumination. that's the aim anyway this
After school I taught myself Photoshop, Flash, some Actionscript and gained more experience with a few other programs. I have an Apple G4 so I'm now alot more familiar with the Mac platform (although I worked w/ Macs and PCs 50/50 throughout college) I judge myself to be at an entry to intermediate level with my skills and experience. In the field of digital media this is where my experience lies:
myself I'm 24 years old from Spokane, WA. (born in Ellensburg WA)went to school at North Central High, graduated, got out of here to go to Evergreen. There I got sucked into animation, art and to my surprise cyberspace after my first 2 years of reading and writing about how the world is going to hell. I worked with Ruth Hayes, animation faculty at Evergreen as I experimented with animation techniques and created a few shorts. The greatest accomplishment was when I completed a 2-quarter independent learning contract creating a noisy, abstract 5-minute piece called "Polar Tension". In my last quarter I interned at Media Island International as their webmaster, regularly updating the site with news, commentary, links, features and other content. In August 2000 I graduated with a B.A. in animation. After graduating I stayed around Olympia, maintaining the web site of mediaisland.org. When I wasn't doing that, job hunting or delivering bread in my spare time I was messing around alot with Photoshop Flash and Premiere on my mac. My current interests include web design, digital art, abstract animation, cyberspace, philosophy, psychology, technology, illumination and keeping up on the misery index of current world affairs. i'm excited about the future of technology, cybermedia and art although it's looking like artificial intelligence will win out and turn us into an H.R.Gigeresque matrix of cyborgs as long as we ignore it or are willing to excuse it as the fulfillment of our "manifest destiny." Heads up!
