Foggy Goggle in California

This is my first experiment with web publishing, please be patient, there will be a better page here soon. I am currently one month into my stint (how long?) as a ski bum at Squaw Valley in California. I've been skiing since I was 8 and have long dreamed of the ski bum lifestyle. Well this year it was time to take a shot. What made me do it now? I'm not sure exactly, but there are a few reasons that I know are contributors. First up, last year was an epic ski season in New England. At Wildcat Mountain in Jackson, NH where I have been a regular for the past 4 years we had the best snow that anybody could remember. That of course stimulated my appetite for bigger and bigger snows. Additionally last year some friends and I started making a low budget ski video "Foggy Goggle." As a result we watched a lot of ski movies, and dreamed a lot of dreams. Finally, I have somebody to go with me. I have finally found a girl who doesn't think I'm crazy for wanting to chuck all responsibilites and move to ski country, and in fact, she came with me. The questions now remain: What will I find when the snow starts to fly, is being poor and nutritionally dependent on Ramen Noodles worth the deep snow? Will Libby still think I'm likable after a full winter? Will I move home to Boston after the winter and resume my career as a respectable schoolteacher?
