Whalers and Crusaders: Battle for 1st
The Taunton Tigers Leave the SCFL
The Mattapoisett Whalers and Fairhaven Crusaders are preparing to fight for the sole first place position in the SCFL. Currently tied at 1 and 0, the winner of the up-coming game on Memorial Day will determine the first place team thus far. Yet, the Crusaders and Whalers will meet again after this game; and posibibly a third time in the Power Bowl. The game will be long and hard; but that wont stop these two teams from the stride to first.
The SCFL was astonished when the former "Taunton Tigers" decided that the SCFL was not right for them. Two of their five players joined the free agent list while three left the league completely. They claimed that their time was too limited for the league. Almost everyone in the league is actually happy about the exit of the Tigers. By the team leaving, the schedule is easier to opperate and players will be able to play on a weekly basis. All in all, the exit of the Taunton Tigers will serve as good and bad thing for the league in the future.
