Among UC's three year players, Ray is #2 in scoring (1922p). Rip 2036. Ray is #4 overall (behind Smitty, Rip, & Tony).Ray has the school record for 3-point shooting (44.8%), and is fourth in single season scoring avg (23.4 in '96). He made 115 3P FG that year--a school record. If you take out Gilead Katz 13-26 3P year, Ray WAS the single season leader at 46.6% '96 until very quietly Albie beat him out last season with a 47.8%. And he's made a helluva pro, doing UConn proud!Ray Allen is in his 5th season in the NBA now and starts for the Milwaukee Bucks.  Ray was the 1996 Big East Player of the Year, and a unanimous All-Big East First team pick, after averaging 23.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 3.3 apg.  He even was a consensus All-America First Team selection by the AP, UPI, The Sporting News and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) as a junior at Connecticut.   Allen scored 8 points in the Schick Rookie Game during the 1997 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland and also competed in the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk.  He was named to the 1996-97 NBA All-Rookie Second

Team, the 1999-2000 NBA All-Interview Second Team and the 2000 U.S. Men's Senior National Team.  Ray was named honorary captain of the 25-member UCONN All-Century Basketball Team and with his 1,200th career free throw on 12/23/2000, he qualified as the eighth-best free throw shooter in NBA history.  Ray Allen won the 1 800 CALL ATT Shootout during 2001 All-Star Weekend, led the Bucks in scoring and ranked 14th in the NBA with 22.1 points per game, and also ranked 2nd in the NBA in three-point field goals made (172), 5th in free-throw percentage (.887), and 11th in three-point field-goal percentage (.423) in 1999-2000.
