Acceptance is based on Income Guidelines, but special circumstances can be considered.

Registration: Open registration on walk-in basis, Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:00& 1:30-3:00, at 1811 Elmdale Avenue, Junction City. Call 238-1042 if you have questions.

Proof of family income – LES, W-2, Income Tax form.

NO COST to those who qualify---federally funded program.

Ages: Must be 3 or 4 by August 31 of current school year. The Head Start School Year for 2003-2004 will be September 3, 2003 to May 27, 2004.

No requirement for toilet training. Children cannot be turned away if they qualify.

Curriculum is play-based, and focuses on Kindergarten readiness.

Early Head Start grant has been applied for; it is a program for pregnant women and children ages 0-3. Can inquire about this program.

Fort Riley children currently comprise 45% of the Geary County Head Start Program.
