"Galesburg Folk Imagine They Saw One High in Air"

Galesburg, Michigan - The incredulity with which reports of a wandering airship have been received has been much qualified by events which occurred here last evening. About 10 o’clock a brilliant white light suddenly appeared, accompanied by a sharp crackling sound, evidently coming from above. These phenomena lasted for probably 30 seconds and startled the spectators, one of whom positively asserts that he saw a huge black object tipped with flame, at a great distance above the earth. A Mrs. Wyngate, residing just over the line of Charleston Township, asserts that she distinctly heard voices from above, at the time of the occurrence.

Jefferson---Wednesday morning of last week a beautiful ball of fire was seen in the clouds in this place. For a short time it was very bright, and then it appeared to go down. It lasted for some time.

April 1 — People residing here claim that an airship passed over this place about 10 o’clock last night. A brilliant white light suddenly appeared, accompanied by a sharp, crackling sound. The phenomena lasted about thirty seconds. Others claim to have heard voices coming from a dark object, which they say, floated through the air.

April 8 — An airship was seen sailing through space by hundreds of people in this city Tuesday night. The vessel appeared to be ninety feet in length, elliptical in form, and carried a bright light in front and a red light in the rear.
