It all started some 40 years ago in Kenedy, TX....
James is the youngest of the eight children of Paul and Mary Alice May of Kenedy, TX. He has been a resident of South Texas all of his life and this is where his journey into being a professional horseman began.
James got his start in the industry from his sister, Candace. She has been involved in the breeding, raising, and showing of performance horses all of her adult life. James was about 6 years old when he started tagging along with his sister to the barn, and quickly learned the ways of the barn help - cleaning stalls, feeding, and cleaning up! And he thought to himself, "It's got to get better than this.... And it did!
For over 15 years, James has been training performance horses on all levels, several of which have gone on to win top honors in heading, heeling, calf roping, and steer stopping.
James is a member of the APHA, AQHA, TApHC, AQHA Professional Horsemen and is currently sponsored by Fastback Ropes.
