LATEST NEWS
Spending time working on old and new songs, enjoying life, working hard. By request: Someone once asked me about my setup and gear. Well, after listening to my songs above, you might notice that I have a split personality. On one hand, I am a singer/songwriter type acoustic fingerstylist. For this half of me I use a 1981 Takamine F-369 Indian Rosewood Acoustic guitar with the copy logo that Martin sued Takamine over. In fact, the guitar is a Martin D-28 copy and I love it. For my other half, I play my 2002 Fender Fat Strat (with Carvin replacement pickup set) or 2003 Fender Telecaster or my 1980 Aria Pro 2 Les Paul Copy with a "Vine of Life" neck inlay. I play all of these through my favorite amp in the world, my 1998 Fender Prosonic 2-10's Combo Amp. I actually have a Mass 50 Power Attenuator to give me the sounds of a cranked tube amp without the volume. I use Morley Wah Pedal, Morley Volume Pedal, Morley A/B Box, Boss Tuner, Boss 7 Band EQ, Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer and a Boss Chorus. But mainly, I just plug directly into the amp and crank up the volume on the amp, but crank down the actual volume on the Mass 50 power attenuator. Ask me a question about my gear, I will answer all question. Well, back to the grind, I hope you enjoyed your visit. Thanks for coming!!
SONG LYRICS:
“Rain”
Words and Music by Mark Gaudet
Copyright 1999, Mark Gaudet
Verse:
When the rain falls down
I call your name
When the rain comes down
I hope you hear the same
Verse:
When it falls on the ground
It makes want for you
As I hear it pouring down
I hope you want me too
Chorus:
I need you and I call out your name
My heart is burning just like a flame
I’m hoping that you feel the same
When the rain falls down
(Little lead fill) 2 runs of progression:
Verse:
When the sun beats down
And the sky is blue
I send a message in the wind
From me to you
Verse:
I’m asking for your love
But you can’t hear my words
Then the rain falls down
Down on me
Bridge:
If you hear what I say, give me a sign of your love
But if you turn right away, I’ll pour out my heart in the rain
(Little lead fill) 2 runs of progression:
Chorus:
I need you and I call out your name
I’m hoping that you feel the same
When the rain falls down
(rain falls down)
When the rain falls down, down on me
(rain falls down)
When the rain falls down
(rain falls down)
When the rain falls down
(rain falls down)
When the rain falls down, rain falling down
(rain falls down)
The rain falls down

High Flying, (Written as an inspiration -hopefully-for my kids, and they actually liked it)
Words and Music by Mark Gaudet
Copyright 1999, Mark Gaudet
I'm looking at the wings of a high flying bird
And I don't know why
I can't fly that high
To be soaring on the wings of an eagle soaring high
I don't know why
I can't soar that high
But my fears keep my feet upon the ground
I'm afraid of the eyes I see around
If for a moment I could see
Just all that I could be
I would fly like an eagle in the sky
I'm searching everyday for direction in my life
And I don't know why
I can't find the way
I spend my time listening to what others have to say
And I don't hear me reaching for the sky
But my fears keep my feet upon the ground
I'm afraid of the eyes I see around
If for a moment I could see
Just all that I could be
I would fly like an eagle in the sky
To believe in yourself
Is the greatest form of love
If you believe you can fly high above
Break
But my fears keep my feet upon the ground
I'm afraid of the eyes I see around
If for a moment I could see
Just all that I could be
I would fly like an eagle in the sky
To believe in yourself
Is the greatest form of love
If you believe you can fly high above
If you believe….. You can fly high above.

“I Want To Tell The World About You”
Word and Music by Mark Gaudet
Copyright 1999, Mark Gaudet
Verse One:
Looking through my window
Gazing at the stars
Trying to find the proper phrase
Inspiration from afar
I want to tell of how we fell in love in a 4/4th’s time and then,
I want to tell the world about you in another song
All over again
Chorus
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la
Verse Two:
The words will tell the world about you
And the way you touch my heart
I want everyone to know
How I feel when we’re apart
I want to tell the world I love you, In the key of C and then,
I want to say how much I think about you in another song
All over again
Chorus:
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la
Interlude:
Chorus:
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la, I want to tell the world about you
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
End!
Lessons Learned by Mark Gaudet
Words and Music by Mark Gaude
Copyright 1999, Mark Gaudet
I went to Atlanta to see my old friend
I hope she wants at be friends again
All the way there I kept asking why, we never said Goodbye
I met her family and he met mine
Very quickly everything seemed fine
It amazed me how the time it flew, I believe she missed me too
Mistakes I've made seem to fade
When I see them through
The things I've done get overrun
By the things I'm gonna do
I went to see my old school again
It wasn't the same as way back when
People changed and people grew, there was no one there I knew
I walked around the old dance hall
Started talking and that's not all
Before long I was laughing, just like a kid again
Mistakes I've made seem to fade
When I see them through
The things I've done get overrun
By the things I'm gonna do
Lessons learned sometimes return, to help me mend the bridges I've burned
Lessons learned they help me see, the me I want to be
Lessons learned, woah! Lessons learned
Lessons learned they help me see, the me I want to be, the me I want to be.
I went to see my old pal "G" and found
He passed away in '93
People come and people go, but I wish I didn't know
I walked around the old graveyard
Started crying and it hurt a lot
But when I left I was smiling, just remembering
Mistakes I've made seem to fade
When I see them through
The things I've done get overrun
By the things I'm gonna do
Lessons learned sometimes return, to help me mend the bridges I've burned
Lessons learned they help me see, the me I want to be
Lessons learned, woah! Lessons learned
Lessons learned they help me see, the me I want to be
The me I want to be
The me I, the me--I, the me I want to be.
End.
“No One Compares To You”
Words and Music by Mark Gaudet
Copyright 1999, Mark Gaudet
Verse:
I see my life as a rainbow
Different people, different colors passing through
But with all of the shades that I see
No one compares to you
Verse:
I see myself as complete
Living my life in a way I know is right
You know all of the things that I do
I do them all for you
Verse:
You know our life is a journey
Different places, different things we like to do
All of the places to be
I want to see them all with you
Chorus:
And you know I’ll always love you
Always love you
No one else will be above you
No one ever will
Bridge:
Cause when I’m down, on the ground
You always pick me up
And if I fall, woah no, to the floor
You’ll lift me up
I know you, you always will
And you know I’ll always love you
Always love you
Break:
Chorus:
And you know I’ll always love you
Always love you
No one else will be above you
No one ever will
Bridge:
Cause when I’m up, in the clouds
I’ll try and take you there
And if I climb up to, to the mountain
I’ll take you there
You know I’ll always love you
And you know I’ll always love you
You know I’ll always love you
Always love you
Verse (softly):
I see my life as a rainbow
Different people, different colors passing through
But with all of the shades that I see
No one compares to you
End!
