My Grammie
March 24, 1908 - November 11, 2003
My Grammie is the Grandmother children dream of
The Grandmother that gives away her love
My Grammie takes time from life to care
And of course, is always here
Grammie has taught me things nobody else could teach
She talks to me but never gives a superior type speech
Grammie praises me even for the smallest thing
She is a wild mother Blue Jay that shelters loved ones with her wing
Grammie has shown me how to give without wanting
She impresses people while not even flaunting
Always creates, never destroys
Fills my life with many joys
When me and my Grammie are together,
We create something that will last forever,
An aurora of love that surrounds and protects us
One that will never tarnish or rust..
Love Sheri

(Cleaning through a drawer of paper and stuff, out spouted this little rhyme, so pretty that it needed to be etched in time on a page to share - a tribute to Grammie...funny how I just happen to come across it 10 years later.... I tried to scan the original but it was to faint so placed the words here what I could scan. :) The Picture at the bottom was written by Sheri, for me, her Mom. |
