Knights of Columbus
Readville Council 2980
Heres hoping this letter finds all members and their families happy and healthy as we head into Thanksgiving.
The final numbers are in on this years Tootsie Roll Drive, and it was a resounding success. The total raised was $1751.25, the most in recent memory. Special thanks to Paul Nolan for running this years drive on very short notice. Thanks also to John Signorello, Dick Gilooly, Arthur Rich, Jerry, Elizabeth, and Joe Grenier, Lou Foley, Charlie Senior, Paul, Ryan, and Peter Tucker, Paul Sheehan, Frank Chapman, and Ray Foley for their collection efforts and to Bill Jurewich, Mike Goff, Brendan Flynn, and John Wood for counting the money. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
As I mentioned in the last letter, the next council meeting will be Tuesday, November 13 at 7:30 pm. We resume our normal meeting schedule with the December meeting which will be held December 4 at 7:30 pm. I look forward to your input. Remember to call me about any ideas you have at (617) 361-5633 or you can send an e-mail to Dan.Fitzpatrick@VerizonWireless.com.
As always, I appreciate your support and look forward to a great year.
The annual Turkey Shoot will be held on Saturday, November 17th at George Wright Golf Course. There will be prizes and a reception back at the council following the tournament. Anyone interested should contact Dom Poncia at (781) 326-5675 or stop by the council by Thursday, November 15th, when the teams will be picked. We look forward to a good turnout.
We will be showing the Hasim Rahman-Lennox Lewis Heavyweight Championship bout and associated undercard on Saturday night, November 17th. All members are invited to bring friends, but please use your discretion, as we would like to start showing these events regularly. Please try to arrive before 10 pm.
As stated in the last letter, we have been and will be keeping the council open until midnight or later on Thursday evenings. Please come down and shoot pool, play cards, and watch games. The more people we can get coming down regularly, the more we can improve the attractions we have (add video games, etc.). We appreciate your support.
