Ignacio Navarro Holgado
has been working in the sphere of ceramics from his childhood and early
became a maestro of this profession. Decor of his plats, vases and tiles
is amazing. Ignacio likes floral motifs, rich colours, sonorous colours
matching, powerful contrasts. Also he likes easel painting and creates
pictures when he is not busy with clay. For my eye Ignacio has a problem
which is common to many contemporary artists from many world's states especially
from states which never were in socialist camp. This problem is absence
of good drawing school. On the other hand, talented Ignacio's paintings
would be characterized as Spanish folk art. He likes the scenes of national
holidays, carnivals and mythology. By nature he is not far from Goya what
fascinate us.
