This effect was just published in IBM's linking ring magazine in Tom Cravens article. Some magicians may seem a little leary of doing this effect because it ends up with a thumb tip on the table. However, I've been doing this effect for about three years and have yet to get any reaction other then laughter and screams. And they do scream loud.
In this video, you'll see the effect performed. It's performed alot shorter then I would in person for the simple reason that it doesn't show up well if i did it at normal spead.
