Dear Friends,
This announcement will be brief but very important! This beautiful church of ours and our lovely facilities have some serious problems. As we announced in the fall, we are begining a capital fund drive to set these problems right or they are going to get so out of control we will never be able to put then right. That would only begin a very serious downward spiral.
The fact of the matter is Church of Our Saviour has no where else to turn but you. We are unlike charities that have large community based populations they can turn to. Unlike educational institutions that can turn to voters and generations of alumni, Church of our Saviour can turn to no one else but you, her members and friends for help. That is about three hundred families or individuals.
We need to raise about one hundred thousand dollars over three years as a minimum. I know that sounds like alot of money; but when you break it down oner three hundred "units" over a three year period it represents a very doable pledge for most people that shouldn't be a great sacifice. But this means that everyone needs to do his or her part.
I will not go into the individual things that need to be done both in the church and in the parish house. All that information will be given to you in the weeks ahead, plus you will be given the opportunity to ask questions and actually see some of the things I am alluding to. I would ask that you would unselfishly do all you can do to keep this beautiful church of ours here in good repair for generations to come, just as those aho have gone before have done for us.
