Is it hard to believe that children go to school hungry or that senior’s planned incomes from so many years ago are not enough to “make do” today? Sadly, hunger is a very real and daily struggle for many in our area. Fortunately, we can and will help.
Beginning this week, the church school children will be coloring paper grocery bags with artwork that shows what they are thankful for. As we adults count our many blessings too, we will be filling these grocery bags with items that will be donated to the food pantries in our area.
Our goal is that EVERY bag is filled!! On Sunday, November 23rd, the bags of food will be blessed as part of our giving thanks to our Lord. Thus, our prayers and gifts of help will find there way to people who are in need.
Some of the pantries had particular requests that appear on the list below. All are grateful for any NON-PERISHABLE food item, so don’t feel limited by their requests. Items can be left in the parish hall entrance where the coats are hung. Thank you for being part of this simple way to express our love, caring and concern for others.
