Middleborough: Parish Church of Our Saviour has called the Reverend David R. Milam to be their new Rector.
Father Milam takes up the leadership from the Rev'd Bruce Benshoff who retired after 22 years of ministering in the Parish. Fr. Milam was chosen from a candidate pool of more than 50 people from across the United States. The search took 18 months.
“Fr. Milam stood out not only because of his spirituality, leadership skills, and background, but because he shares the same vision of growth as the parishioners of Parish Church of Our Saviour,” states Philip Burgess, Senior Warden.
Fr. Milam is a native of Texas with roots in Louisiana. Before becoming a priest, Fr. Milam was a full time Youth Minister on staff and taught history. He has worked and lived in various parts of the country, as well as England. He comes to us from Trinity Episcopal Church, Newport, RI where he was Curate.
“I really look forward to being with Parish Church of Our Saviour. It truly is an exciting time in both the Parish’s life and mine as well,” said Fr. Milam. “I also look forward to meeting the people of the Middleborough/Lakeville area and serving as a priest in the community.”
Fr. Milam, his wife, and two of their three children will live in Lakeville, Mass. A third child begins college this year.
