Kiki? What's she all about? ... just read below!

“God speaks through you, do not ignore Him” has been Kiki Breevlife’s axiom since the start of her artistic journey. There is evidence of His Creative Force speaking especially through Kiki’s music. Her aptly named alias describes exactly what she intends to do with her work: Breathe Life.

Born in Brooklyn, NY at the threshold of her most influential genre of music, KiKi reminds her audience that she was born with “Hip Hop”. In her teenage years she relocated to Massachusetts and it is there, residing on the outskirts of Boston, that she holds the title as the city’s underground Hip Hop scene’s favorite female MC. KiKi Breevlife is an expressive artist with the ability to delve into the listener’s soul and stir emotion. Her passion for writing formulates her exceptional gift of lyricism for she is a songwriter, poetess, and a vocalist. Her lyrics are filed with truth, passion, wisdom, and her words extend to navigate minds into new realms of logic. She presents diverse views of life, social issues, and personal experiences utilizing her incomparable voice.

In March of 1999, She co-founded Raw Earth, a female-based organization designed to uplift and support women in the performing arts offering young women resources for success and showcasing talent. Raw Earth consists of young female actresses, rappers, singers, and a STEP team. Through Raw Earth, Kiki has conducted workshops, including speaking and performing with and before inner-city youths. Raw Earth holds an annual Raw Earth Summer Jam, which premiered in 2000.

KiKi Breevlife brings an essence of purity to the stage. She has been seen performing numerous occasions at Rocky Lomangtane’s All That (Cambridge, 1998) Middle East Café, House of Blues (Cambridge), Paradise Café, Bill’s Bar, New York City’s Sir Soundstage, a spontaneous appearance at the Avalon’s Lyricist Lounge 2000 Tour (Boston), and many community events and centers.

Her work is found on Critical Breakdown’s compilation CD with the socially conscience track ‘Mind is Free’ that airs on WERS 88.9 Boston. She sprinkles her talent on MA Underground artist REKS’ LP ‘Along Came The Chosen’ singing, mcing, and vocalizing on various tracks including the rap duet ‘Till Death Do Us’.

When Kiki is not instigating a street corner cipher, she takes her freestyle skills to the stage entering battles. She was semi-finalist for Biscuithead Record’s 2000 MC battle, finalist at Kevin Powell’s Harlem Hip Hop Speaks Conference event, (2002) and was CHAMPION of the first annual WAR OF THE ROSES female mc battle, (2001)

Kiki Breevlife is a full-time lyricist/business woman and puts effort into giving back to her community. She is socially aware of her surroundings and hollers, “ Try educating the youth through Hip Hop!” and by example, she is doing just that.
