Same sex marriages are a recently new topic of discussion,
meaning there is not a big history about the topic. However, this is a very
controversial topic. In ways, this topic is very similar to Interracial Marriage. To see a comparison of the two, go Here
The first time that recognizing of a same sex marriage was in
the 1990’s. From this time on, this topic became an important gay rights issue.

right to marry the person they love. Vermont is the only state which allows
same sex marriages to happen legally. The Defense of Marriage Act is a recent law that has been
created. There are two parts to it. 1) It lets states decide whether or not
they want to allow same sex marriages and 2) it creates a federal definition
for “marriage” and “spouse.” A summary of this law can be found Here. This law basically denies recognition of a same sex marriage. Facts
