an unofficial preview of the new l-s

This is the main computer lab, also known as (of course) the center of the new school. Seriously, it is. In location, anyways.
However, all classrooms are pretty much mini-labs here. You'll notice this history room (I think) has the really important stuff: computers, TV, whiteboard... but lacks the little detail of chairs and desks.
This is history hall. Or at least the contents of the old history hall.
The science rooms aren't quite unpacked yet either.
I'm sure you'll all be relieved to see that the Scantron machines made it safely over, though...
This drama/music area needs just a little bit of work. (But don't worry, it'll all be perfect by September! Really!)
Speaking of unpacking...
But at least there's a nice view. Kind of. This is from a science classroom in the A400 area.

The new school will be steered by the spirit of the old one, as shown here.

Just like the old one, it'll be fueled by caffeine.

A view down one of the light-wells in... A Pod, I want to say? Actually I totally forget where I took this. Sorry.
And up the light-well.
This is one of the stairwells that you can sort of see from the road. They connect the three pods. The new building has lots of stairs.
If you need to find stairs and don't want to take the main ones, though -- I imagine they'll get crowded once there's actually people here -- just look for the exit signs.
This is one of the gyms. Picture taken from the balcony. Yes, balcony. It's pretty nice, even if not painted yet, as you can see in the corner.
The lecture hall. (Sorry for the icky picture.) It's unfinished but still wicked cool and even steeper sloped than it looks here.
One of the elevators, obviously. Don't trust the little "3" -- this picture was actually taken on the fourth floor.
Yes, the new school was actually designed by M. C. Escher.
Over in drama: this is the green room. Two of the doors on the right I think actually lead to bathrooms, one to the drama office, and on the left just out of the picture is the door to the auditorium.
Speaking of which.
(This picture is from under the balcony, the other is from above. I was gonna get a picture from another angle and try to get you guys to guess where I took it from, but unfortunately the location in question was locked. Maybe some other time.)
This is just outside the auditorium on the lowest level of A pod. I'm guessing it'll be a popular spot, unless its remote location underneath all the main administration and far from the actual classrooms interferes. :P
Yes, the new school is almost finished. Absolutely.
In a fit of inspiration, the architects have located the outlets and network drops for the computers in this physics room right next to the sink. Nice job, folks.

This is the spaceship loading dock.

What?

The water fountains look very pretty but are not yet chlorinated.
So we're seeing a number of these around.
I think this is West House. The house offices should be pretty nice once they're cleaned up a bit. Or a lot.

The budget didn't allow for a stairway to heaven, so we had to settle for a ladder.

Awwww... look, it's the old building.
Awww.
Yeah.
This is another gym. With mirrors on the wall. All I have to say is I'm so glad I'm not going to have to take aerobics in here, because it'd be really really depressing.

All the hallways feature color-coded walls. Those of you who are big on mnemonic devices can find their way around by remembering that B pod is blue, C pod is crimson, and A pod is... green. (Aquamarine?)

Er. But what I was going to say is that y'all have already been beat to the stapling up signs and graffiti thing. Darn.

This is I think the language lab. I affectionately refer to our new computer acquistions as Attack of the Clones.

Remember that nice hill where we used to sled, and I think where they used to hold graduation, once upon a time?

Yeah.

I think this is an air-conditioning unit. One of my fearless co-workers says it looks like something from Half-Life.

This is the library. It's hard to make fun of because it looks pretty nice. Um. The lights look like upside down umbrellas and they haven't put them up yet?

And here's the view from the other side of the fence we've been staring at.
