This is Zeke.

He's been at the shelter for a while now,

because he's part chow and part pitbull,

and no one will even give him a chance!

He is absolutely one of the best dogs

we've ever had except that he really doesn't like cats too much!

Loves to run and play, and spend his evenings on the

couch watching TV with his family.

Don't forget the popcorn!

This is Abigail, or Abby as she's known to her friends.

She's a 5 month old yellow lab mix who has tons of energy

 and just loves everyone.

She would like someone who will take her for long walks

or runs at least once a day (preferably twice).

Anyone wishing to make donations - we always need dog food, as well as any
type of dog supplies such as brushes, combs, big bowls, vitamins, flea
collars, etc.

Also looking for a weedwhacker!

Anyone interested in volunteering some time, please call Anne at 978-297-3862.

Iggy is a one year old neutered male
rat terrier /manchester terrier mix
who is up to date  on all his shots and is housebroken too!
Needs a quiet home without young children
as he tends to get frightened easily (as most toy dogs do!).
He's a sweet, loving little guy who actually gives hugs!

This is Buddy.  He's a two year old male cocker spaniel who loves playing fetch.

He gets along good with dogs and cats, but children do make him nervous.

He'd love to be out of the pound soon!

The news:

Ahimsa Haven is asking for donations for Ethel, who is one of the
beagles that were recently picked up as strays in Winchendon. Both Lucy and
Ethel went to a wonderful home in Vermont, but Ethel was very sick and had to
be hospitalized first! The vet bill came to over $400! Needless to say, the
town can't really afford a vet bill like that, but Ethel is just the sweetest
little girl, so Ahimsa Haven is helping out and paying the bill. We'd like
to ask anyone willing to help out with the "Ethel Fund" to mail donations to
Ahimsa Haven, 405 Mellen Road, Winchendon. All donations are tax deductible!
Donations can also be left in the Town Manager's office, or at the Police Station.

Thanks!
Anne

We're having a giant yard sale with Gardner and Ashburnham Animal Control

on October 19th (rain date of the twentieth) from 8 to 4.

It will be held at the Gardner Shelter on Plant Road in Templeton, off 101.
There will be food, games, petting zoo, lots of fun for everybody!
Donations can be made by calling Judy at 978-297-0445.

Anyone wishing to help out at the shelter can usually meet me there on Saturdays around 10 am or so.

Thanks!
Anne

Remember, there is a "gift fund" for cash donations, too!
Just drop donations of any type off at town hall, or the police station.

We're also looking to expand the shelter soon.
If you do construction work of any type and would like to volunteer your services, please contact us!

Hi! Just a friendly reminder -

There IS a leash law in Winchendon!

Please keep your dog under your control at all times!

This helps protect your dog and your neighbors.

Also, if you haven't gotten your dog licensed, it's past time!

All dogs over the age of 6 months need to have a rabies vaccine

and a license!

Tags should also be worn on their collar at all times.
