Lower Roxbury TGH Instructors/Coordinator

Nyvia grew up in Boston in the early 70's when things were rough for the minority community immigrating. Her parents were not aware of the importance of becoming involved in thier children's education. Therefore, due to the lack of parent support and peer pressure she dropped out of high-school. Twenty-years later and many obstacles jumped she is happy that shes chosen the technology world. Ms. Colon has gone on to higher education and has received many computer certifications that play a big role as to where she is today. Today, she works for the Madison Park Development Corporation as the Technology Director and is also the coordinator / Instructor for the Lower Roxbury Technology Goes Home Program. Nyvia can be making more money, but as she puts it: "Money isn't everything!" she realizes that if it had not been for the non-profit services along with people who cared she would not be where she is at today: Financially independent, successful, and truly happy! Unfortunately, Nyvia's younger sister never made it, and so in her sisters memory she is determined to give back to her community: Trainings that can open the doors to six figure incomes!
