Resume Assignment

Two families, consisting of parent and child, are teamed up to assist each other in the resume building process. Parent and child who have never worked are concerned about not having enough information to build a resume. However, an open discussion, which touches upon creating an entry level resume focuses on the day-to-day responsibility of running a household. A list is created of duties families do daily and the resume process begins. Families are surprised at the skills they actually have.

Examples of household skills: organizational skills, accounts payable, scheduling, communication, money management, maintenance management, and lots of hard labor--And thats just to name a few.

We encourage parents to assist child in building a resume. The child begins to focus on an objective: What would you like to be when you grow up? Once the resume is complete it will be updated yearly. This resume will become a great tool once that child is ready to fill out college applications.
