What exactly is TGH?
TGH stands for Technology Goes Home. It's a computer literacy program brought to low-income families in Boston. It is funded through grants and private monies. The Lower Roxbury TGH is sponsored by The Lower Roxbury Collaborative which is made up of five non-profit organizations: The Madison Park Development Corporation, The Cooper Community Center, The Lower Roxbury Residents Association, St. Francis de Sales/St. Phillips Parish, and The Whittier Street Health Center. |
Spring Class 2001
The Spring 2001 was our first graduating class. Ten families received computer lessons and a computer to take home. The graduation took place at Wentworth Institute and it was wonderful. The Mayor of Boston along with Liz Walker, a famous Boston reporter, were both there to help us celebrate. It was a very special moment for the families and the people who make this program happen. |
The Harris's
The Harris's were chosen by the families to represent them in our graduation ceremony. Cynthia and Jonoah Harris shared that they both learned so much. The best part for Cynthia Harris was being able to communicate with her thirteen year old son once again. She said that it seemed for a while she was not having any luck communicating with him. However, because she shared this learning experience with her son, now they have something in common to talk about! |
