Coming into the 2002 Griffleball season, Brian Mason was a name in the past. After an average season, but what he says was a disappointing one in 2001, he announced his retirement. You could tell it was something he did not want to have to do, but was forced due to other commitments. All of a sudden, just 3 days before opening day in 2002, rookie Brian Murfag went down with a horrible leg injury, breaking it in many spots. Brian knew he was needed. President Matt Griffin called Mason up and immeditly the one time superstar was back out of retirement. Instead of out with the old and in with the new, it was out with the new and back with the old. Mason enters the 2002 season a little rusty because he missed much of spring training, but don't think for a second that it will slow him down, he still has all the firepower he used to have. Brian originally entered Griffleball in 2000 in the middle of the season and was a big suprise to many people stealing a few unexpected victories. |
