About seven years ago, due to lack of money at Christmas time, LuAnn decided to make gifts for the kids on her list. Using a pile of old, broken crayons her kids had accumulated, she gave them a new life. During the following years she improved her methods and continued to grow. It quickly became a cause to get kids involved in recycling something of their own. In April 1993, the first “drop off bin” was placed in the entryway of a grocery store. Now the CRAYON RECYCLE PROGRAM™ is a national success! The CRAZY CRAYONS™ are distributed nationally (her kids named the new crayons).
CRAZY CRAYONS™ come in 26 different colors, many creative designs and themes, and are also recyclable. They work like any other crayon because we do not add or take away anything in the recycling process. They are packaged in a recycled cardboard box, each set comes with a tree-free paper doodle pad and highlighted with a straw grass bow. Some are packaged in cellophane, which looks like clear plastic but is a product made from tree gum that is biodegradable and burnable. We also offer the packaging choice of reusable, resealable poly-baggies.
