Camp Lincoln String Band
Recreating popular music of the 19th Century
Dedicated
to the preservation and performance of traditional American music from
the 19th Century.

The Camp Lincoln String Band began
as a small group gathered around a campfire during a Civil War Reenactment
with the 25th Massachusetts Regiment. From these beginnings, members have
expanded into areas of performing on historical reproduction instruments,
some period instruments and historical research. The group portrays civilian or military costumes in an attempt to recreate what might have been seen in the early to mid
19th Century.

The group
has performed throughout the Northeast, entertaining crowds at Gettysburg,
PA
Lexington,
MA, Newport, RI and for the Massachusetts State Parks. They perform regularly at reenactments
and historical functions. The band currently has a CD for sale entitled "The Political Quadrille" containing 14 tracks of popular music of the early to mid 19th century. It is available at many Sutlers or from any member of the band. The band is available for events and functions
conducive to the historical integrity they promote.
Booking
rates vary with travel and accommodation expenses.
For
events within one hour of Boston, MA , Worcester, MA or Providence, RI
there will be no travel charges.
