Welcome to my page for

the greatest comic book super-hero of all time!

I have been a big fan of Aquaman for over ten years, but my introduction to the King of the Seas goes way back to the 70s when I was just a little kid. I remember watching the Superfriends tv show Saturday mornings and the Aquaman cartoon show as well. He stayed with me all that time. In the late 80s, my brother introduced me to the comic book world, and I began a never-ending search for all things Aquaman!

    AQUAMAN'S POWERS

  • Aquaman communicates telepathically with most sea life, but doesn't command them. He merely asks for help and usually gets it. His telepathic powers are seemingly more powerful than he knows.
  • Aquaman can swim at super human speeds, and is much stronger than an average human due to living in the depths of the oceans under all of the water pressure.
  • His cybernetic hook can transform into many different forms, including a "hand", and also has a cable which shoots out at will.

  • AQUAMAN'S HISTORY

Aquaman is the son of the Age-Old Wizard Atlan and the former Queen of Atlantis, Atlanna. When Atlanna's husband, King Trevis, was unable to father a child, Atlan seduced Atlanna in a dream state and impregnated her. When the child was born with blond hair, Trevis realized the child was not his, and abandoned the baby on a reef to die. The baby was saved by a kindly dolphin named Porm, and was raised as one of her own.

As years passed, the child grew to become a young man, and eventually left his dolphin family. He learned about the ways of humans from a lighthouse keeper, Arthur Curry. In honor of all he learned from his human "father", he adopted the name Arthur Curry as well.

Arthur became Aquaman after helping the Flash, and with Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Green Lanter and Flash, he was a charter member of the Justice League of America. Aquaman eventually reclaimed his place as King of Atlantis and also took in another undersea outcast, Garth, who took the name "Aqualad". Aquaman met an undersea woman from another dimension named Mera, and they fell in love and married. As King and Queen of Atlantis they ruled and were loved by all. They had a child together, Arthur Curry III, but he was killed at the hands of Black Manta. This drove Mera and Aquaman apart and she eventually returned to her dimension and he left Atlantis.

Aquaman eventually found the ancient books called The Atlantis Chronicles and learned of his mother and true father and his true name "Orin". Orin reclaimed his place as King of Atlantis. Tradgey struck again whent he villian Charybdis captured Aquaman and the water-breather Dolphin. Aquaman and Dolphin were able to free themselves, but at the cost of his left hand. Aquaman and Dolphin became involved briefly, but it looks as though Mera's return has brought his feelings for her back. Aquaman is again a member of the JLA, and is also more at peace with his place in the Oceans than ever.
