Car Inspection Story---June was my month to get my car inspected, and I went to the garage at the corner of Chestnut and Western, because my mechanic recommended the place. I waited for about an hour before it got to me. The guy doing the inspections took my keys and pulled the car in himself. This was my year to get the full inspection and it took awhile but finally the guy pulled the car out and he left the motor running. No problem. I had to go to Wal-Mart on Highland Ave, so I went there. I got into the parking lot and tried to shut the car off and the key wouldn't turn! I couldn't shut the car off! I headed back to the gas station and after fooling with it for about a half hour and sending me to the locksmith a few blocks away, the station owner said he couldn't fix it! He said it was nobody's fault??!! The key was bad!! I headed over to my mechanic and after about 3 hours and $120 the problem was solved. All in all it was a pain in the neck. So I guess the moral of the story is to do what John does. Don't bother with car inspections at all! Another funny thing about the inspection, after the guy had it in the garage a little while he came out and told me a couple of lights were out in the front. I went in the garage and he showed me where the lights had blown. I said ok you can put new lights in. Fast forward to when he pulls my car out and says the bill is $29, which is what the inspection itself costs. I say to the guy, didn't you replace those lights? He says no, we were mistaken, there were no lights there in the first place!!
