GAUDET FAMILY NEWS

Breaking news******Check out my car inspection story below. HEY!!!!! Long time no update!! I've been real busy!! I go to work, come home, eat, sit in front of the TV or computer until 9 PM and then I go to bed. I get up the next day and do it all over again. It ain't easy!!! If you're wondering who those people are in the photos, it's a long story. As you may or may not know John and I got a new Dell computer awhile ago, and Microsoft won't let me install the drivers for my old scanner. The only option I have is to buy a new scanner. They're not really that expensive, about $100, but since I just used the scanner to put pictures on the website, I decided not to spend the money. So, I have to use photos that other people have posted on their website. The top photo is Wayne Newton, or , no, I think the second photo is Wayne Newton. I keep getting those two photos mixed up. But whichever photo is Wayne Newton, he's one hell of an entertainer!! Pa's doing great! Ma's doing great! As far as I know everybody is doing well. Joe had a bad scare a little while back, but in true Gaudet fashion he's as good as new. In case you haven't heard the city cut down all the trees to the left of the playground. I guess some homeless people were using it so they just leveled the whole thing! It really is strange to look at. Completely bare ground all the way up. I heard from the guy in charge that they're going to plant grass. When it snows it's going to be a GREAT place to slide down. Maybe even ski down. I hope it doesn't attract too many people.

Down Memory Lane--It's weird to walk by where Stinson's used to be and see a brand new DUNKIN DONUT'S, but it's great! I'm amazed there isn't a major accident everyday in that area. There was supposed to be lights put up at the corner of Boston and Ford street but it never happened. You have cars whizzing by the CVS mall heading towards Flax pond and you have cars coming out of the new Dunkin Donuts. It's a recipe for disaster. Maybe the reason there haven't been any accidents is that the area is pretty wide open and everybody can see just about everything.

Car Inspection Story---June was my month to get my car inspected, and I went to the garage at the corner of Chestnut and Western, because my mechanic recommended the place. I waited for about an hour before it got to me. The guy doing the inspections took my keys and pulled the car in himself. This was my year to get the full inspection and it took awhile but finally the guy pulled the car out and he left the motor running. No problem. I had to go to Wal-Mart on Highland Ave, so I went there. I got into the parking lot and tried to shut the car off and the key wouldn't turn! I couldn't shut the car off! I headed back to the gas station and after fooling with it for about a half hour and sending me to the locksmith a few blocks away, the station owner said he couldn't fix it! He said it was nobody's fault??!! The key was bad!! I headed over to my mechanic and after about 3 hours and $120 the problem was solved. All in all it was a pain in the neck. So I guess the moral of the story is to do what John does. Don't bother with car inspections at all! Another funny thing about the inspection, after the guy had it in the garage a little while he came out and told me a couple of lights were out in the front. I went in the garage and he showed me where the lights had blown. I said ok you can put new lights in. Fast forward to when he pulls my car out and says the bill is $29, which is what the inspection itself costs. I say to the guy, didn't you replace those lights? He says no, we were mistaken, there were no lights there in the first place!!
