Since 1990, "Inkoming" , part of a 300 acre former farm, now organized into a Land Preservation Trust, has been host to various military, military simulation and reenactment activities including formal events, training and just hanging out in your period uniforms. This is a historical area whose trustee are historians, both military and civilian. Their interest in historical military simulation is a hobby to which they devote considerable time and effort.
Places where reenactors from all wars can train, organize in security, safety, and wide open fields and close woodlands, is nearly impossible to find.
Since 1993, an annual WWII reenactment has been held that is growing in popularity to the point where in 2006, over 150 WWII reenactors from all over the United States east coast took part. The event in 2003 was accompanied by a freak snowstorm photos of which were published in international defense magazines.
Reenactors from all wars, Civil War, Revolutionary War , French and Indian War and Vietnam train here or just get together in private, no matter what army or war. They do so in private, secure surroundings ranging from vast high meadows to deep , secluded woodlands. Bunkers, pillboxes , villages and other man made obstacles cover the area.
One use of Inkoming is airsoft whose modern military simulation features look alike modern weaponry with 300 feet per second plastic pellets. A number of international airsoft events take place each year at Inkoming.
Facilities are based upon actual squad and company assembly and command areas. Located midway between Boston and NYC off major highways, Inkoming is in easy reach of most New England reenactors and has a helicopter landing pad.
Long associated with elements of the regular military of The United States, much of which is now deployed overseas, Inkoming is a non-profit historical use that welcomes reenactors, airsofters, "mountain men" and private military training academies for private use as well as continued use by Untied States military whenever needs require.
All reenactors must be in uniform. Charge is $25 per person per day. Email us with you reenactment training needs.
This property and its trustee support the United States of America and its persons in military service, many of whom still come here.
